6:34 SPEAKER_02: He had not only invented the technology, but the prototype was more like a smartwatch.

6:47 SPEAKER_02: No DeLorean, Marty, and Doc Brown.

6:52 SPEAKER_02: Not for glory, not for power, but for regret.

6:57 SPEAKER_02: A year ago, his girlfriend Emily had been taken from him in a brutal accident.

7:02 SPEAKER_02: And tonight, he would bring her back.

7:05 SPEAKER_02: He would go back to that night and place and warn her, intervene, give the timeline a little nudge in a different direction.

7:12 SPEAKER_02: His equipment and laptop powered up.

7:15 SPEAKER_02: He set the time and date into his watch.

7:18 SPEAKER_02: But he could only jump back to the past one hour before the accident.

7:21 SPEAKER_02: He wasn't able to calculate any further back than that.

7:24 SPEAKER_02: Would the butterfly effect actually create alternate timelines?

7:29 SPEAKER_02: He didn't care as long as he could have his Emily back.

7:33 SPEAKER_02: Who wouldn't turn back the hands of time to save as a loved one?

7:37 SPEAKER_02: Go back and warn your grandma to quit smoking to erase the years of throat cancer she'll go through.

7:43 SPEAKER_02: Or go back to your childhood one hour before your favorite dog got hit by that car.

7:47 SPEAKER_02: Speed off without stopping.

7:50 SPEAKER_02: He also wasn't able to jump forward in time.

7:53 SPEAKER_02: The watch also was bioset to him and only him.

7:58 SPEAKER_02: It also kept him connected to the present while being able to go back to the past.

8:02 SPEAKER_02: Another rule was that he could only remain in the past for one hour, no more, no less.

8:08 SPEAKER_02: Then automatically, he would be pulled back to his time.

8:12 SPEAKER_02: The present.

8:14 SPEAKER_02: Right now.

8:15 SPEAKER_02: Time travel is nothing like you think it is.

8:18 SPEAKER_02: It's like rewinding your favorite part in a movie and pressing repeat.

8:22 SPEAKER_02: It gets to a certain point and starts over.

8:25 SPEAKER_02: You know exactly what is coming when and where.

8:28 SPEAKER_02: Everything is almost like a play.

8:30 SPEAKER_02: You have everything memorized, word for word.

8:33 SPEAKER_02: What kind of dog passes you?

8:36 SPEAKER_02: Or the guy walking looking down at his phone and him stepping in that same pile of dog shit 35 times.

8:42 SPEAKER_02: No matter how little you push time, it always seems to inevitably catch up and write itself.

8:47 SPEAKER_02: Daniel remembers the first time jumping.

8:50 SPEAKER_02: He was in his lab in the basement.

8:52 SPEAKER_02: Monitors, cables, wires, hooked up to electromagnetic coils.

8:58 SPEAKER_02: By making a smaller version of the Hydron Collider, it created a megahertz frequency, which created a time bubble, if you will, a wormhole to send him to the past.

9:10 SPEAKER_02: He arrived one hour before she was to be hit by the drunk driver.

9:14 SPEAKER_02: He couldn't believe it.

9:16 SPEAKER_02: The smells, people, and the surroundings felt so real because it was real.

9:22 SPEAKER_02: He had done it, and time traveled.

9:25 SPEAKER_02: He had to make it to our hole in the wall bar.

9:28 SPEAKER_02: That was twelve blocks away.

9:30 SPEAKER_03: On the night she dies, I didn't go with her that night.

9:33 SPEAKER_03: I had to work early.

9:35 SPEAKER_03: Besides, it was a girl's night out.

9:38 SPEAKER_03: I ran until my lungs burst.

9:41 SPEAKER_03: At 10:15, she'd come stumbling out of that bar to have a cigarette.

9:46 SPEAKER_03: Then she would be standing on the curb, getting ready to text me.

9:50 SPEAKER_03: She didn't notice the car until it was too late.

9:53 SPEAKER_03: A car jumped the road where she was and pinned her to a lamppost.

9:58 SPEAKER_03: She managed to stay alive for another 30 minutes.

10:02 SPEAKER_03: By the time the ambulance got there, it was too late.

10:05 SPEAKER_03: Emily! Emily, wait!

10:07 SPEAKER_01: Daniel, what are you doing here?

10:09 SPEAKER_03: You can't go that way! The car's coming! You need to get out of there!

10:13 SPEAKER_01: Daniel, what the fuck?

10:15 SPEAKER_01: You're acting weird.

10:16 SPEAKER_01: Are you drunk?

10:17 SPEAKER_02: Everything started to look blurry as an alarm started beeping from his watch.

10:21 SPEAKER_02: No! No, no, no! He was back at the lab in his basement.

10:25 SPEAKER_02: As the rippling around him started to fade, he checked the time.

10:30 SPEAKER_02: July 18th, 2025.

10:33 SPEAKER_02: 9 o'clock p.m.

10:35 SPEAKER_02: He had only been gone for seconds in this time, but an hour in the past.

10:40 SPEAKER_02: He had changed the past just by being at the bar right before she got hit by the car.

10:46 SPEAKER_02: But she got hit anyway.

10:48 SPEAKER_02: But time does not forgive.

10:50 SPEAKER_02: It does not forget.

10:52 SPEAKER_02: It only replaces.

10:54 SPEAKER_03: What the hell happened?

10:55 SPEAKER_03: God damn it, I was there to warn her, and she still died.

10:59 SPEAKER_03: Fuck!

11:00 SPEAKER_02: Daniel wanted to go back again.

11:02 SPEAKER_02: Had to go back again and give time another poke.

11:06 SPEAKER_02: Another chance.

11:07 SPEAKER_02: Another jump.

11:09 SPEAKER_02: He set the time dial again.

11:11 SPEAKER_02: This time he would save her differently.

11:14 SPEAKER_02: One hour before the accident, the time bubble brought him to the same spot.

11:19 SPEAKER_02: He checked his watch.

11:20 SPEAKER_02: He had exactly one hour to alter the chain of events that leads to her death.

11:25 SPEAKER_02: Before he's pulled back.

11:27 SPEAKER_02: This time Daniel rang her doorbell.

11:29 SPEAKER_02: She opened the door, surprised.

11:32 SPEAKER_03: Emily! I have to talk to you.

11:34 SPEAKER_03: I need to warn you about something.

11:36 SPEAKER_03: You're just going to have to trust me.

11:39 SPEAKER_03: Because it's going to sound crazy.

11:41 SPEAKER_01: Daniel?

11:42 SPEAKER_01: What are you doing here?

11:44 SPEAKER_01: I thought you were tired and have to get up early.

11:46 SPEAKER_01: You know I'm getting ready to go out with the girls.

11:49 SPEAKER_01: It's been a long week, and I fucking need a drink.

11:53 SPEAKER_01: Why do you look so different?

11:56 SPEAKER_01: Are you wearing a wig?

11:58 SPEAKER_01: Daniel.

11:59 SPEAKER_01: What's going on?

12:00 SPEAKER_01: Since when do you suddenly have long hair?

12:03 SPEAKER_03: Don't worry about that.

12:04 SPEAKER_03: That's not important.

12:06 SPEAKER_03: Just trust me.

12:08 SPEAKER_03: Don't go to the nook tonight.

12:10 SPEAKER_03: Please.

12:11 SPEAKER_01: What are you talking about?

12:12 SPEAKER_01: You know I have plans with the girls.

12:14 SPEAKER_01: We're gonna have some drinks.

12:16 SPEAKER_01: It'll be okay.

12:18 SPEAKER_03: Just promise me.

12:19 SPEAKER_03: I have a bad feeling that something bad is going to happen to you at the bar.

12:23 SPEAKER_01: Dude, what's the matter with you?

12:25 SPEAKER_01: You're acting strange.

12:26 SPEAKER_01: Why the fuck are you tripping?

12:28 SPEAKER_03: Promise me, Em.

12:30 SPEAKER_03: God damn it.

12:31 SPEAKER_03: Say you'll stay home.

12:32 SPEAKER_01: Okay, Jesus Christ, you're acting like a fucking dick.

12:36 SPEAKER_01: Okay, I won't.

12:37 SPEAKER_01: Just go home and leave me alone.

12:38 SPEAKER_02: Emily didn't go to the bar.

12:40 SPEAKER_02: She stayed home.

12:42 SPEAKER_02: Daniel was outside the bar waiting to see if Emily showed up anyway.

12:46 SPEAKER_02: She didn't.

12:47 SPEAKER_02: But that same car came down the road, right on cue.

12:51 SPEAKER_02: It hopped the curb and smashed into the lamp.

12:55 SPEAKER_02: Some people came out.

12:57 SPEAKER_02: Said most of the same things.

12:59 SPEAKER_02: Except the said nothing about the poor girl who was pinned between the car and the post.

13:04 SPEAKER_02: Now they said someone called 911.

13:07 SPEAKER_02: This guy is bleeding pretty bad.

13:09 SPEAKER_02: Emily fell asleep on the couch.

13:11 SPEAKER_02: She had been drinking glasses of wine and passed out.

13:15 SPEAKER_02: Little did she know a gas leak had been building for hours, filling up all her rooms in the house.

13:21 SPEAKER_02: She woke up and smelt gas.

13:23 SPEAKER_02: Just as she opened the front door, the air conditioner kicked on, causing a spark to ignite the gas and blew her and the kitchen sky high.

13:33 SPEAKER_02: Daniel heard the explosion a few blocks away.

13:36 SPEAKER_02: He heard sirens heading in that direction and had a gut feeling that they were going to Em's house.

13:42 SPEAKER_02: By the time he got there, her house was engulfed in flames.

13:46 SPEAKER_02: Police and the EMs had the area blocked off.

13:49 SPEAKER_02: They had a sheet covering a body that lay on a stretcher.

13:53 SPEAKER_02: He ran up to it and pulled the sheet back.

13:55 SPEAKER_02: Police tried to stop him.

13:57 SPEAKER_02: Her face.

13:58 SPEAKER_02: What was left of her face was a bloody mess.

14:02 SPEAKER_02: He knew it was her.

14:03 SPEAKER_02: No, no, no! Time does not alter.

14:06 SPEAKER_02: It does not bend to will.

14:08 SPEAKER_02: It only finds another way.

14:11 SPEAKER_02: A ripping pop is heard as he's pulled back to the now, his alarm beeping as he looks around at his monitors in his basement.

14:18 SPEAKER_03: No matter what I do, she dies.

14:21 SPEAKER_03: She always dies.

14:23 SPEAKER_03: Just one jump.

14:25 SPEAKER_03: Just one.

14:26 SPEAKER_03: I can fix it this time.

14:28 SPEAKER_03: Make everything right.

14:30 SPEAKER_03: I know what to do now.

14:31 SPEAKER_03: I know where it went wrong.

14:33 SPEAKER_03: I know I can push the outcome in a different direction.

14:36 SPEAKER_03: Change it for good.

14:37 SPEAKER_03: I gotta try.

14:38 SPEAKER_02: The equipment powers up again as he sets the alarm.

14:42 SPEAKER_02: He can smell the electric magnetic particles in the air.

14:45 SPEAKER_02: The warbling of the mini collider.

14:48 SPEAKER_02: The time bubble was forming.

14:50 SPEAKER_02: A flash of white light filled the basement.

14:54 SPEAKER_02: He was back again just before the accident.

14:57 SPEAKER_02: This time something was a bit different.

14:59 SPEAKER_02: He had a buzz, and it was him who was having a brose night out.

15:03 SPEAKER_02: This isn't right.

15:05 SPEAKER_02: Something is wrong.

15:07 SPEAKER_02: Daniel said to himself.

15:09 SPEAKER_02: Daniel ordered another round and went to step outside to smoke a cigarette.

15:14 SPEAKER_02: He stumbled out of the bar and onto the sidewalk.

15:17 SPEAKER_02: He pulled his phone out and was going to text Emily.

15:19 SPEAKER_02: He took a new port out of the box and lit one.

15:22 SPEAKER_02: From across the street, he saw Emily.

15:24 SPEAKER_01: Daniel, hey Daniel, wait, wait.

15:26 SPEAKER_02: Emily, what are you doing here?

15:28 SPEAKER_01: You can't go that way, the car.

15:30 SPEAKER_02: Just at that moment, Daniel stumbles a bit and from nowhere is plowed into the post, pinning him against it.

15:36 SPEAKER_02: The car's airbag deployed and the windshield was shattered.

15:40 SPEAKER_02: The driver lay unconscious.

15:42 SPEAKER_02: People started to come out and check out the scene.

15:45 SPEAKER_02: That poor guy.

15:47 SPEAKER_02: Someone called 911.

15:49 SPEAKER_02: Hurry! Emily made it over to Daniel and held his hand.

15:53 SPEAKER_02: Tears were filling up her eyes.

15:55 SPEAKER_01: It's not fair.

15:57 SPEAKER_01: No matter what I do, he dies.

15:59 SPEAKER_01: He always dies.

16:01 SPEAKER_01: Even if I push it a little to change the outcome, it somehow writes itself in the end.

16:06 SPEAKER_02: A beeping alarm went off on her watch.

16:09 SPEAKER_02: She was back at the lab in the basement.

16:11 SPEAKER_02: As the rippling around her started to fade.

16:15 SPEAKER_02: She checked the time.

16:16 SPEAKER_02: July 18th, 2025.

16:39 SPEAKER_00: I can fix it this time.

16:42 SPEAKER_00: I know what to do now.
