6:10 SPEAKER_08: I would have said it was crazier than a rat in a shit tin house, or I was a few cards short of a full deck.

6:22 SPEAKER_08: I'd figure I'd document this into the best of my recollections, that'd help future generations.

6:45 SPEAKER_00: The sun beat down mercilessly on the arid landscape, casting a desolate glow on the town of Dusty Gulch, or Deadman's Gulch as it would later come to be called.

6:54 SPEAKER_00: The wind whispered the swirling tumbleweeds as horses whinnied in the town.

6:59 SPEAKER_00: The boisterous streets were alive with townsfolk completing their daily routines.

7:03 SPEAKER_00: A ragtime melody could be heard coming from the outlaw's den saloon as a man crashed through the window and tumbled onto the dirt street.

7:13 SPEAKER_02: Next time I'll put a bullet between your eyes, you cheap bastard.

7:16 SPEAKER_02: That apple jack you just downed is two silver bits.

7:19 SPEAKER_00: Exclaimed the bar dog as the man dusted himself off and took off running down the road.

7:26 SPEAKER_00: Children chased each other playing tag.

7:28 SPEAKER_00: They were having a hog killing time.

7:30 SPEAKER_00: People came out of the merchantile store with airtights or canned goods, tobacco, and produce.

7:36 SPEAKER_00: The fare bells sat up top the railings on the second floor of the honeypot brothel, waving handkerchiefs and showing leg garters to cowboys and other passerbys.

7:46 SPEAKER_00: Gold fever had struck the country.

7:48 SPEAKER_00: Why be a cattle wrangler for some land baron when you could strike it rich beyond your wildest dreams?

7:54 SPEAKER_00: There was talk about the Union Pacific Railroad Company running a rail line all the way from California, right past Dusty Gulch, continuing through the Northwest.

8:06 SPEAKER_08: Our town had its fair share with run-ins of outlaws, prospectors, and cheats.

8:12 SPEAKER_08: But I took an oath to uphold the law and to keep the peace.

8:16 SPEAKER_08: Ask anyone in town what a fair man I am.

8:19 SPEAKER_08: Most would say I'd give their shirt off my back.

8:23 SPEAKER_08: But break the law by gunning a man down in cold blood.

8:27 SPEAKER_08: You can bet your ass I won't hesitate to put two slugs in you.

8:31 SPEAKER_08: One smack dead between your eyes, and the other right between your chest.

8:36 SPEAKER_08: That's if I miss.

8:38 SPEAKER_08: And I never miss.

8:40 SPEAKER_08: Not only am I fast with the steel, but I'll drop you quicker than an orderly rattlesnake getting ready to strike after kicking up a nest.

8:49 SPEAKER_00: Sheriff McGrady's dusty cowboy boots rested on his old worn-down desk.

8:54 SPEAKER_00: A dull gleam of light reflected off his spurs coming from the window.

8:58 SPEAKER_00: He struck his timber off his boot, lighting a hand-rolled cigarette, and inhaled deeply.

9:04 SPEAKER_00: He took his boots off the table and stood up.

9:09 SPEAKER_08: One thing about those Cheyenne's is they sure grow some of the finest tobacco west of the Rockies.

9:15 SPEAKER_08: Think I'll head over to the Outlaws Den and thank my good friend Chief Brave Wolf personally for this mighty fire blend.

9:23 SPEAKER_08: A few of the townsfolks told me I might find him there.

9:27 SPEAKER_08: For the leader of the Cheyenne tribe, Chief Brave Wolf was not only a wise and skilled warrior, but he could drink any white man under the table.

9:36 SPEAKER_08: The only other man that could reach Chief Shot for Shot was me, of course.

9:42 SPEAKER_08: Sure, his tribe might make some okay corn whiskey.

9:46 SPEAKER_08: Taste like deer piss, if you ask me.

9:49 SPEAKER_08: Still can't compare to my hunterproof fire water.

9:54 SPEAKER_00: As the sheriff made his way across the dusty street towards the outlaw's den, he noticed three new coffins leaning against the undertaker's handrail.

10:03 SPEAKER_00: An older fellow wearing thick specks, dressed in a black robe and a white collar.

10:08 SPEAKER_00: He was measuring a body for a pine box.

10:12 SPEAKER_08: The Undertaker not only built coffins for the dead, but was the town's pastor as well.

10:18 SPEAKER_08: Father Michael.

10:19 SPEAKER_08: Now Father Michael's sermons could touch the lowest of the low snake in the grass.

10:25 SPEAKER_08: Good for nothing yellow belly outlaws.

10:29 SPEAKER_08: I tip my hat to the father as he wiped his glasses with a red bandana.

10:35 SPEAKER_08: He placed it back on and gave me a friendly wave.

10:40 SPEAKER_08: Top of the morning to you, Sheriff McGrady.

10:44 SPEAKER_08: Busy day, father.

10:47 SPEAKER_08: You got your work cut out for you in this fine, beautiful town of ours.

10:52 SPEAKER_08: Aye.

10:53 SPEAKER_08: That is true, Sheriff.

10:55 SPEAKER_08: But you know the good lord's work is never done.

10:58 SPEAKER_08: So who we lay in to rest today, father?

11:08 SPEAKER_08: Twas only a matter of time before they were gun down in cold blood, for after what they did to the poor child and the mother in South Dakota.

11:20 SPEAKER_08: Tied 'em to their horses and then drug 'em through the plains.

11:23 SPEAKER_08: If God's a betting man, which I think he is, then these bastards got dealt the hand they played.

11:31 SPEAKER_00: The father made the sign of the cross as he kissed his golden cross that dangled from his neck.

13:50 SPEAKER_00: But Grady slapped him on the back and pushed the saloon doors open to the outlaw's den.

13:54 SPEAKER_00: Music played in the background as women sat on cowboys' laps.

13:59 SPEAKER_00: Shot glasses were being slammed on tables as men were fighting and breaking chairs over someone's head.

14:04 SPEAKER_01: Count 'em, full house, aces wild.

14:06 SPEAKER_01: I went.

14:07 SPEAKER_01: That's buffalo shit, friend!

14:09 SPEAKER_00: I call you out! You're a goddamn cheat!

14:11 SPEAKER_04: Ain't no goddamn cheat, and I'll put a slug in ya.

14:16 SPEAKER_00: Both men stood up as their chairs toppled over, hands going for their trusty side piece ready to draw.

14:22 SPEAKER_00: Sheriff McGrady slowly walked up to the men and tipped his hat to them.

14:26 SPEAKER_00: He then patted his colt and tapped his badge.

14:31 SPEAKER_08: Mr.

14:32 SPEAKER_08: Jes, Mr.

14:33 SPEAKER_08: Flip.

14:34 SPEAKER_08: Last time I checked, I'm still the law round here.

14:39 SPEAKER_08: I can either ask you to settle this like gentlemen, or I could take you both to the pokey and lock you up to sunup.

14:46 SPEAKER_08: Well, then there's option three.

14:49 SPEAKER_08: See how fast I really am.

14:51 SPEAKER_08: You boys know I've got the fastest draw around these pots, and you'd be deader than dead before your shot glass even hit the table.

15:00 SPEAKER_00: Both men slowly lowered their pistols, and the sheriff did the same.

15:04 SPEAKER_00: McGrady took off his hat and swept the pot in it and placed it on his head.

15:11 SPEAKER_08: That's my winnins.

15:15 SPEAKER_08: My money, gentlemen.

15:17 SPEAKER_08: House wins.

15:18 SPEAKER_08: Now get to kicking rocks before I change my mind and put some lead in you.

15:24 SPEAKER_00: Flynn and Mr.

15:25 SPEAKER_00: James stumbled out of the saloon doors.

15:27 SPEAKER_00: Clementine Dakota was watching her bells work the room as she slammed an empty glass down on the bar.

15:33 SPEAKER_02: Another glass, Miss Dakota?

15:35 SPEAKER_00: Asked Bo Sawyer, the barkeep.

15:37 SPEAKER_00: He was smoking a cigarette as he cleaned a dirty shot glass.

15:40 SPEAKER_00: He was a short man and balder than a baby's bottom.

15:43 SPEAKER_00: Had a mighty fine mustache, though.

15:46 SPEAKER_00: A manly man's mustache that curled at the ends.

15:49 SPEAKER_03: Such a sweet boy.

15:50 SPEAKER_03: Another glass, give me the whole damn bottle.

15:53 SPEAKER_00: She grabbed the bottle, took a huge pull from it, and raised the bottle towards McGrady, who was making his way to the bar.

16:00 SPEAKER_00: McGrady tipped his hat to her.

16:01 SPEAKER_00: In response, he put his hand on his friend's shoulder.

16:05 SPEAKER_00: Clementine twirled her parasol as she smashed a whiskey glass.

16:12 SPEAKER_08: Hello, my friend.

16:14 SPEAKER_08: May the spirits travel with you on your lawman's journey.

16:18 SPEAKER_08: But you'll need more than that when you try our tribe's latest rye wine.

16:23 SPEAKER_08: Stronger than that poor excuse for your whiskey, white man.

16:28 SPEAKER_08: Well, I don't know what you've been making in that peace pipe of yours, Chief Brave Wolf.

17:23 SPEAKER_00: The sheriff laughed, and after a moment of awkward silence, the chief laughed too.

17:39 SPEAKER_08: I came to warn you about something ominous on the horizon.

17:44 SPEAKER_08: My ancestors have shown me a vision while I was in a longhouse session the day before last.

17:50 SPEAKER_08: Mother Earth is unhappy with the cutting down of forests, using what your people call dynamite to use and find silly riches.

18:01 SPEAKER_08: She will send a sign, the same sign my ancestors witnessed many moons ago, to restore balance in the stars and the heavens.

18:19 SPEAKER_08: Oh, sorry, chief.

18:21 SPEAKER_08: I mean no disrespect to you or your beliefs.

18:24 SPEAKER_08: But I don't buy all that mumbo jumbo.

18:27 SPEAKER_08: I only know what I can see with my own eyes.

19:56 SPEAKER_00: They were all busy either playing cards or being entertained by Miss Dakota's farebells.

20:01 SPEAKER_00: It was an old prospector with a worn dusty hat.

20:04 SPEAKER_00: His bandana wrapped around his wrist was soaked in blood.

20:07 SPEAKER_00: His white beard stood out on his sunbeaten face like a snow cap on the mountains.

20:11 SPEAKER_00: His overalls were dusty and tattered.

20:14 SPEAKER_00: He was smoking a cigarette.

20:16 SPEAKER_00: His hands were shaking as he exhaled the smoke through his jagged yellow teeth.

20:20 SPEAKER_00: He saw the sheriff talking to one of those Cheyenne Indians at the bar and made his way up to them.

20:26 SPEAKER_00: Oh hell.

20:27 SPEAKER_08: Here comes Crazy Koopa.

20:30 SPEAKER_08: I wonder what kind of batshit crazy yarn he'll try to spend this time.

20:35 SPEAKER_08: I still have shit to do.

21:41 SPEAKER_04: Then I see some kind of green ball of light with what looked like a tail behind it.

21:46 SPEAKER_04: What internations was that Loretta?

21:49 SPEAKER_04: Sam held it crashed just beyond town near the old cemetery.

21:53 SPEAKER_04: I took a swig from my flask to calm my nerves and gave some to my girl because her nerves needed calming as well.

22:00 SPEAKER_04: Trailing smoke behind it like them engines, sending them smoke signals to each other.

22:06 SPEAKER_04: I went back to panning because I didn't care a contental.

22:13 SPEAKER_08: You're most likely dragged out.

22:16 SPEAKER_08: The sun can do a minute strange thing to a fella.

22:20 SPEAKER_08: So you see this thing with your mule.

23:11 SPEAKER_04: I see someone about 30 yards as the crow flies.

23:15 SPEAKER_04: He's a b shuffling towards us.

23:17 SPEAKER_04: I tip my hat and wave.

23:19 SPEAKER_04: I say, hey there, stranger.

23:21 SPEAKER_04: This here's my claim.

23:23 SPEAKER_04: I'll defend it if I have to.

23:26 SPEAKER_04: I told him I was packing iron, and if he came closer, I'd drop him.

23:30 SPEAKER_04: No answer, but he kept coming.

23:32 SPEAKER_04: By now, Loretta was acting a damn fool.

23:35 SPEAKER_04: I took another nip from my flask and aimed my sights on him.

23:40 SPEAKER_04: My hands were shaking like a prairie dog.

23:42 SPEAKER_04: Now he's right in front of me.

23:44 SPEAKER_04: You need help, mister?

23:46 SPEAKER_04: Didn't you hear what I just said?

23:48 SPEAKER_04: And there's the smell of Earth Ab's decay.

23:51 SPEAKER_04: Like a possum that's been cooking in the sun all day.

23:54 SPEAKER_04: That's close enough, mister.

23:57 SPEAKER_04: I looked up to see his face and almost pissed my chaps.

24:00 SPEAKER_04: This fella had no eyes.

24:03 SPEAKER_04: There was a mess of flies buzzing around him.

24:05 SPEAKER_04: He was making this low gurgling sound.

24:14 SPEAKER_04: Then the crazy son of a bitch bit me.

24:17 SPEAKER_04: I drew on him and put one in his chest and he hit the ground like a sack of tatters.

24:23 SPEAKER_04: I bandaged my hand and God be my witness.

24:26 SPEAKER_04: He he gets back up.

24:28 SPEAKER_04: I hit him dead center, but got back up like it was nothing.

24:33 SPEAKER_04: He kept coming at me.

24:34 SPEAKER_04: I managed to get on Loretta, dug my spurs and her.

25:06 SPEAKER_00: The Sheriff said as he tapped his peacemaker.

25:08 SPEAKER_00: Just then he heard a scream coming from outside somewhere.

25:11 SPEAKER_00: McGrady pushed the saloon doors open and stepped out.

25:15 SPEAKER_00: All hell was breaking loose.

25:17 SPEAKER_00: He saw chaos, hell on Earth.

25:19 SPEAKER_00: He saw a man, or what looked like a man on top of a woman and was biting her face off.

25:24 SPEAKER_00: People running in all directions, horses running down the streets in a frenzy.

25:29 SPEAKER_00: From the shadows emerged a nightmarish sight.

25:32 SPEAKER_00: A horde of grotesque figures with rotten flesh and vacant eye sockets.

25:37 SPEAKER_00: Their clothes were torn and tattered, remnants of their former selves.

25:41 SPEAKER_00: A coach set of blaze nearly knocked McGrady down, but dove out of the way just in time.

25:49 SPEAKER_08: What in the unholy hell is going on around here?

25:54 SPEAKER_08: Chief Brave Wolf was right.

25:56 SPEAKER_08: The dead have climbed out of the final resting place to eat the living.

26:24 SPEAKER_08: The shit's hitting the pasture.

26:27 SPEAKER_08: I promise to return by sun up.

26:29 SPEAKER_08: Remember, my friend, they are not your people anymore.

26:33 SPEAKER_08: They are something far worse now.

26:36 SPEAKER_00: And with that, Chief Brave Wolf mounted his horse and slapped the reins.

26:42 SPEAKER_00: The unbed bastards were attacking the townsfolk, eating their flesh, turning on whoever they can catch.

26:48 SPEAKER_00: Dusty Gulch was under siege by a relentless horde of what future generations would call zombies.

26:53 SPEAKER_00: But Grady's heart pounded in his chest as the world around him was playing in slow motion.

26:59 SPEAKER_00: He knew he had to act quickly in order to protect the innocent.
